General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s some exciting news to report for holiday movie fans. Great American Media announced in a press release and on social media that they’re welcoming Ryan Paevey (Cassius Faison) as part of their family, so he’s starring in a new film that’s currently in production called Christmas at Moose Lake.
This movie will be included in the network’s Great American Christmas franchise and should arrive just in time for the holidays.
Let’s look at what Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media, said in the big announcement.
“Welcoming Ryan Paevey to Great American Christmas is especially exciting – Ryan and I have a long-shared history of making audience-favorite films, and I know first-hand the warmth and authenticity he brings to each role. It is truly thrilling to bring this stellar cast to Great American Christmas,” Abbott said.
Speaking of that stellar cast, Paevey’s co-stars include Britt Robertson, Kevin Dillon and Natasha Henstridge.
Look for Paevey to play Sean, who reconnects with love interest Alyssa in a small-town setting for a story that includes some drama surrounding a misplaced engagement ring.
Of course, we have to consider what Paevey’s warm welcome at Great American Media means for Cassius aka fake Nathan West’s future in Port Charles.
Christmas at Moose Lake is currently filming in Somerset, Kentucky, so we’ll see how that affects Paevey’s airtime as Cassius and overall future on the show.
Some of Ryan Paevey’s fellow GH cast members like Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain) often juggle other projects in their schedules.
It’s possible that Paevey will stick around Port Charles even with the new film opportunities that are opening up to him.
However, it’s also possible that Paevey could depart the ABC soap eventually and focus on other roles like the one in Christmas at Moose Lake.
Paevey may already be preparing for what could be Cassius’ inevitable exit now that he’s been revealed as Nathan’s twisted twin.
Cassius may not be as evil as Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) or Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), but he still isn’t a good guy.
If Cassius doesn’t get a redemption arc at the end of all this, he may wind up as dead as Nathan!
If Cassius has an expiration date, it’s nice to know Paevey will still have more roles he can pick up now that he’s part of the Great America Media family.
