Whoopi Goldberg has been in trouble with The View before. The long-time moderator was suspended in 2022 for her comments that the Holocaust wasn’t about race. Now she wants to get ahead of something from her past that might be leaked. Keep reading for her shocking admission before it was “uncovered” by haters.
Whoopi Goldberg Reveals Secret ‘Before It’s Uncovered’
Whoopi Goldberg has been the moderator on The View since 2007. She’s shared some controversial hot takes over the years, but none received the backlash that her Holocaust comments did. The blowback was so severe that she was suspended from the Manhattan, New York, morning talk show for two weeks. She doesn’t want to be suspended again.
She opened a recent episode of The View with a discussion about a Maine Senate hopeful’s controversial tattoo. Graham Platner got a tattoo while in the military years ago. He said that he was drunk when he got the tattoo with his buddies.
It only recently came to his attention that the large tattoo on his chest is very similar to Nazi propaganda imagery. He’s since covered the tattoo but the damage to his political aspirations may not be repairable.

“When I have a couple of glasses of wine, I don’t start spouting Nazi slogans,” Joy Behar said on The View. Whoopi Goldberg chimed in with a shocking admission.
“When I was drinking, strange stuff came out of my mouth, yes. You know what, nothing like that to us now, but to people then, it would’ve sounded…,” the actress said. She added that nothing she said was racist or anti-Semitic, causing Joy to say that Whoopi doesn’t know that for sure because she was drunk.
The View Host Insists She’s Not Racist
Despite Joy’s comment, Whoopi Goldberg insisted that she knew she never said anything racist while drunk. “I know I drank and did stupid stuff, and I took responsibility for it,” she said. The comedian brought her past up before it was “uncovered” by anyone else.
She warned viewers not to bother looking for things she said when she was drunk because she doesn’t drink anymore. Whoopi Goldberg addressed the topic again after the show came back from a commercial.
“I just want to point out that my point was that people say stupid stuff sometimes when they’re inebriated. I’m not a racist. I know how folks like to send that stuff in. Please don’t do that,” she told the audience.
Social media users weren’t impressed by Whoopi Goldberg’s confession. One person wrote, “Every time she opens her mouth she says stupid stuff whether she’s drinking or not!!!”
Another added, “Whoopi doesn’t need to be drunk to continue with those bad habits.”
If there are any videos of The View host saying racist things, you can bet that the internet will find them. Tell us in the comments about a time you said something while drunk that you regret now.
