‘The View’ Joy Behar & Whoopi Goldberg Step Over The Line With Fans?

The View is supposed to give different perspectives on recent events and topics in the news. The current hosts – Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro – don’t always see eye-to-eye during the Hot Topics segment. The discussion recently turned to vaccinations, which is a hot-button issue right now.

Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar had a lot to say during the discussion. Keep reading to find out why fans think they crossed the line.

Joy Behar Announces Return To Popular The View Segment

The View returned with a new season earlier this month. There was chatter last month that the show might be canceled after the ladies went on summer hiatus early. But those fears were unfounded.

However, the show clearly needs some revamping. Some fans thought the return of a popular comedy segment could be just what The View needs. Joy Behar’s Comedy Corner was a popular segment with viewers.

She revealed on the Behind the Table podcast that the segment will return this season. “People need to laugh. These are difficult times we’re in,” she said about bringing the segment back. But is it too late after Joy and Whoopi crossed the line earlier this week?

Joy Behar & Whoopi Goldberg Step Over The Line?

As the show’s moderator, Whoopi Goldberg brings topics to the table for the ladies to discuss. On Tuesday’s episode, the topic turned to vaccinations. The country’s new Health Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is looking into vaccinations and whether they cause autism or not. Florida recently vowed to remove vaccination mandates for schools.

“This is so crazy, but as cold and flu season arrive, a new Washington Post poll found that one in six American parents are rejecting vaccine recommendations,” Whoopi Goldberg said to start the discussion.

“When did people stop trusting their pediatricians?” she asked. She then polled the audience about their vaccination status. Whoopi instructed anyone in the audience who was vaccinated to raise their hands.

A majority of the audience raised their hands, prompting Whoopi to say, “And you’re all still alive. Okay. I’m just checking”

“If you’re not, don’t come back,” Joy Behar told the shocked audience. The controversial discussion comes days after Whoopi Goldberg angered viewers by shutting down the discussions if the other co-hosts don’t agree with her.

Fans React

The subject of vaccinations entices strong opinions across the country. The number of people sharing their skepticism about vaccinations increases every day. Some of the social media comments represented the growing distrust.

One fan wrote, “I get what Whoopi is saying about trusting educated doctors and physicians BUT over the past 10-25 years it’s not as easy to blindly believe and trust since kickbacks to doctors / hospitals and political bias by media have made things more of a headache”

Another added, “The science follows the money today. It’s all about making money. Why is there vaccine commercials on TV now. To make money. Phizer, etc make billions off of fear. The view is pure propaganda.”
