Fans tuning into The View were recently shocked by a surprising cut during the show’s airtime. This also happened as fans were expecting to watch a big interview on the show. Fans have also been sharing their reactions to the cut on social media.
Fans Have Seen The View Get Preempted Different Times Over The Years
The View has been part of ABC since 1997. Over the decades, fans have seen a number of co-hosts sit at the table to discuss various current events.
However, the ABC program has often been subjected to preemptions over the years. This has often been due to major news developments, especially political events.

Recently, as noted by The U.S. Sun, the show was cut off during its expected airtime this past Tuesday, September 23, 2025. A recent cut caused viewers to miss the start of the Hot Topics segment.
Coverage of President Donald Trump addressing the United Nations General Assembly was being aired by the network. ABC continued to air Trump’s speech during The View‘s expected airtime.
This caused viewers to miss the episode’s first ten to eleven minutes. The show resumed with Whoopi Goldberg mid-sentence during the Hot Topics segment.
An Anticipated Interview Was Set To Take Place During The Episode
Previously, the episode had been highly anticipated, as Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to appear for an interview. She was promoting her new book, 107 Days. However, the episode returned in time for Harris’ interview, meaning it wasn’t directly impacted by the cut.
The episode also marked Harris’ return to The View since October 2024. During her prior appearance, she was the Democratic candidate for the presidential election.
While the airing of the episode was impacted, a note at the bottom of the screen advised fans on how to watch the episode online. The uncut episode was also released on YouTube. As seen online, the uncut episode featured a discussion of Trump and health concerns over Tylenol during the opening segment.
Taking to social media, many fans noted the preemption as they were trying to watch The View. One fan wrote, “This address is interfering with The View.” Another shared, “Now do The View.”
Others told fans that they could still watch the episode online. As one fan wrote, “Luckily, it will be on their YouTube channel later in the afternoon. Full episodes of The View are on there.”
