CNN Anchor Reacts To Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Falling Out With President Trump
The View has come under fire from all sides for a lack of Republican or right-wing guests. The show responded to the backlash by booking Marjorie Taylor Greene on the show earlier this month. The controversial politician represents Georgia’s 14th District in the House of Representatives.
In a shocking move, MTG has spoken out against the rising health care premiums and the release of the Epstein files. Her break with the Republican Party on those issues received a heated response from President Trump, who branded the Rep. as a “traitor.”
CNN anchor Abby Phillip appeared on The View on Wednesday, November 19. She was there to promote her book, A Dream Deferred: Jesse Jackson and the Fight for Black Political Power. The book explores the civil rights icon’s Presidential runs and the impact the failed bids had on the Black community.
The CNN NewsNight host shared her reaction to President Trump’s surprising turn on Marjorie Taylor Greene. ‘What happens when suddenly the person that you’ve been backing for the last six, seven years turns on you? I think it really changes your mindset about everything. It calls into question everything that you know about yourself. And I do think there is a lot to that,” Abby Phillip said.
She added, “I do think that this loyalty thing with Trump — If you’ve covered him as I have, you know it’s a one way street. But she literally is learning that in real time right now, literally yesterday she said, I’ve been so loyal to him. And they’re calling me a traitor. I think she is realizing that Trump is not there for her.”
At that point. Ana Navarro jumped in to change the subject to the CNN anchor’s book. “Abby, enough about Trump. Let’s talk about this wonderful book before we run out of time,” The View host said.
While Ana Navarro didn’t mean any harm in interrupting Abby Phillip, some fans took issue with the rude behavior.
The View Fans Blast Hosts For Cutting Off Guest
Fans of the daytime talk show took to social media to call out the hosts for cutting short an interesting interview. “She’s one of the best guests they’ve had in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed her for the short amount of time she was on. She should have had two segments. They were rushing her off for VYD,” one fan wrote online.
The VYD segment, View Your Deal, features products at deep discounts. One fan called it the “QVC portion” of the show.
Another fan agreed that the interview with the CNN host should have been longer. “She was super interesting, but they kept cutting her short. They should bring her back and give her more time to speak,” the fan wrote.
