Sister Wives star Jenn Sullivan, Meri Brown‘s close friend, announced her husband Shawn‘s “rare and aggressive” health diagnosis.
On July 9, Sullivan took to Instagram with a post revealing Shawn’s sarcoma journey to raise awareness for the rare form of cancer.
“This photo was taken on our 19th anniversary – just before Shawn began treatment for Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer,” she captioned her update. “Since February, he’s undergone five weeks of radiation and two major surgeries, including the removal of a third tumor that had grown unnoticed just outside the radiation area.”
In her post, Brown’s BFF described her husband’s recovery as “long & painful.” However, Shawn is “slowly gaining strength.”
“We’ve kept this close so our kids could finish the school year without added worry,” Sullivan added. “But we have told them, have helped them to feel confident that we are on a good path, & have decided to now share it with you too & say thank you.”
After thanking those who have sent prayers and texts, she pointed out that July is Sarcoma Awareness Month.
“While this road was unexpected, we’re staying hopeful, grateful, and committed to catching any potential recurrence early, & we pray the worst is behind us,” Sullivan concluded. “Thank you for loving & supporting us through it. We feel it every single day.”
In the comments, Brown wrote, “Love you guys tons!! 💛💛,” as many other Instagram users flooded Sullivan with support.
Another shared, “Sending prayers of healing and strength to Shawn and your family. 🙏🙏.”
Someone else wrote, “I am glad you are raising awareness. My dad had a sarcoma on his arm. We had no idea this horrible cancer existed. Prayers go out to your husband.”
Meanwhile, a different follower commented, “So sorry you are going thru this. Sending prayers of healing ❤️🩹🙏.”
