Sister Wives star Robyn Brown claims she threatened her husband, Kody, with legal action after he pitched the idea of doing an alleged ‘backdoor deal’ with his ex, Janelle, to sell the Coyote Pass property behind his other ex, Meri’s, back.

It was during the second part of the One-on-One reunion special of Sister Wives season 20, released on January 18, 2026, that Robyn expressed her honest opinions on the so-called ‘backdoor deal.’

While speaking with host Sukanya Krishnan, Robyn expressed that she was strictly against blindsiding Meri and rushing with the sale. To her, betraying a former wife was “morally wrong.”

However, when Kody continued to pressure her to agree to the sale before Meri signed off, Robyn threatened to “go legal” on Kody.

The Sister Wives star claimed she stood up for Meri’s rights not only as an individual but also as one of her husband’s former wives.

According to Robyn, Meri deserved that much, as she believed that the deal needed to be finalized respectfully without leaving anyone in the dark.

Robyn went so far as to claim that Kody threatened her to agree to the alleged deal, leaving the show host, Krishnan, stunned.

With the contract of the Coyote Pass property close to expiring, Robyn claimed Janelle began to get impatient about the sale.

As for Janelle, she explained that since the contract was nearing its expiration date, she wanted to ensure the sale went through. However, she alleged that Kody and Meri made her wait, turning her impatient.

Robyn suggested it was during that time that Kody informed her about an alleged backdoor deal with Janelle, where “they sell the property out from under Meri.”

“Meri was in a very precarious situation, and so, I was like, ‘Hell no, you’re not doing this to Meri,’ and I was like, ‘Why are you even talking to Janelle about this? This is wrong. This is morally wrong,’” Robyn recalled.

However, when Kody continued to push her, she claimed she said she would take legal action against him.

“I will sit here in the middle of this road, and I will not– I will make sure we don’t sell this property until we do this fairly,” she added.

The Sister Wives star alleged that it was Janelle pressuring Kody to go through with the deal, but irrespective of who was pushing him, Robyn refused to let them blindside Meri.

Elsewhere, Christine, another one of Kody’s exes, expressed her take on the dispute, holding Kody accountable for pitting the wives against each other.

“He would get together with one wife to decide what to do with everybody else,” she said, convinced it was what broke their family apart.

As for Robyn, she recalled telling Kody that he was “better than this.” She expressed that she could no longer recognize him, saying he was not the man she married.

Later, in the episode, Kody shared that while Robyn was his “moral compass,” he knew he could not have gone through with that backdoor deal with Janelle.

He claimed it was only “an idea” that Janelle had been pushing. Elsewhere, Janelle denied ever pitching a backdoor deal, quipping that Robyn loved being the symbol of righteousness.

As for Meri, she struggled to pick a side to believe, but at the same time, she hoped that someone would have informed her about the alleged deal.
