In an interview with PEOPLE, Janelle revealed that she had received the release from their church, the Apostolic United Brethren.
Janelle said, “I have it,” while holding the papers. She also noted that the process was easier than she expected. “I thought I was going to have to come back for a second meeting,” the Sister Wives star exclaimed. She also noted that she is free now. Janelle further added that after the meeting, she was unsure what she had been worried about. “They were all very kind,” she said.
Furthermore, the reality TV star said she felt a shift in her energy after the church leaders granted her release. “I think maybe it must have really meant something deep down that I’m sort of not always paying attention to. So I’m glad I did this,” Janelle noted. She also stated that the leaders told her they would call Kody and inform him of what had happened. Janelle added that as she left the church, she felt free.
“As I was leaving, I just kind of felt free,” she said. She explained that some sort of weight had been lifted off her. “So, somewhere in the back of my mind, this must have been more important than I realized to have done this,” she noted.
