Three years ago, it was announced that Amazon Freevee would stream the bilingual series Casa Grande, which examined everyday realities and conflicts between California’s migrant workforce and the landowners who reap the profits.
That series was created by Swickard (A California Christmas) and Afshar, and followed the intertwining lives of various families in the farmlands of Northern California. The series was billed as an “upstairs/downstairs story transposed from turn-of-the century English countryside to rural America.”
The series starred Pyper-Ferguson (The 100, Suits), Moore (That ‘70s Show, 90210), Lawlor (Juniper), Karen Bethzabe (Babylon), Bolaños (All American), Raquel Dominguez (Chicago Med), James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Mansi (Days of Our Lives), Daniel Edward Mora (Coco), Escandon (The Baxters) and Afshar (He’s Just Not That Into You).
