General Hospital alum Nicholas Chavez has just been cut from a movie, so does that mean he is going back to Port Charles? He had gone on a hiatus to pursue other endeavors, and it appeared that he would be coming back. That did not happen, but is he set for a return due to failed projects? Keep reading for more details.
Nicholas Chavez Cut From Film
When Nicholas Chaves left his post as Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital, fans were brokenhearted. They loved him in the role and did not want to see him leave.
Yet, he had the opportunity to star in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which aired on Netflix. It appeared that he was just on hiatus, but then it came out that he had left Port Charles for good. The soap has lost some key players in the last year or so, including Kelly Monaco and Chad Duell.

Now, some news regarding Nicholas and his career has come out. Along with Lola Tung, the twenty-five-year-old was supposed to appear in the summer thriller, I Know What You Did Last Summer.
They filmed a scene for the film, which originally starred Jennifer Love Hewitt. However, whatever they shot was left on the cutting room floor. Therefore, it will never see the light of day, which is a sad twist. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who directed the film, shared where Lola and Nicholas were to fit in.
The General Hospital alum was supposed to be in the opening scene alongside Lola. Unfortunately, it did not work with the vibe of the movie.
It was also noted that both Lola and Nicholas were beloved and had nothing to do with them. Moreover, it was a creative decision, but where does that leave Nicholas Chavez? An appearance in this film could have kept his movie career going. He admitted that he had no idea what the premise of the horror flick was prior to being cast. Yet, his girlfriend forced him to sit and watch.
What’s Next?
Now that Nicholas Chavez has been cut from a major motion picture, will he return to General Hospital? He has not said one way or the other, but the Daytime Emmy winner does have more coming up. Nicholas will star in The Technique, which is currently in post-production. It is set to be released this year, but his part remains unknown. As of now, Nicholas’ career is still flourishing, but the hope is that if he ever does want to return to Port Charles, the door will be open.
