Julie Chrisley Breaks Silence on Her Health After Prison Release

Julie Chrisley, the matriarch of the reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best, has spoken out for the first time about her health following her release from federal prison. After serving over two years for convictions related to bank fraud and tax evasion, Julie was granted a full presidential pardon by former President Donald Trump on May 27, 2025 .

In an exclusive interview with Southern Living, Julie, 52, shared insights into her physical and emotional well-being post-incarceration. “Prison was a challenging experience,” she admitted. “But it also gave me time to reflect and prioritize my health and family.”

Julie revealed that during her time at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, she underwent regular health check-ups. “The medical staff was attentive, and I made it a point to stay on top of my health,” she noted. “I even started a daily walking routine in the yard, which helped me both physically and mentally.”

Upon her release, Julie was spotted in Nashville, Tennessee, sporting a new look—her natural gray hair replacing her signature blonde locks. “Embracing my natural hair felt liberating,” she said. “It’s a reflection of the new chapter I’m entering.”

Her attorney, Alex Little, confirmed that Julie is focusing on family and adjusting to life outside prison. “She’s doing well and is committed to rebuilding her life,” Little stated.

Julie also addressed rumors about potential health issues, clarifying that she is in good health. “I’ve had regular check-ups, and everything is fine,” she assured. “I’m grateful for the support and looking forward to the future.”

As the Chrisley family reunites and moves forward, Julie’s resilience and focus on well-being serve as a testament to her strength and determination.

On Tuesday, May 27, President Donald Trump issued Todd, 57, and Julie full pardons, prompting their immediate release. A video captured the moment Trump announced the news to the Chrisley kids, where he noted their parents were “given a pretty harsh treatment, based on what I’m hearing.”

“It’s a terrible thing, but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,” Trump said. “I hope we can do it by tomorrow. … I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good luck.”

The next day, the pardon was officially signed and the pair were released.

“I am just so grateful that I am gonna leave here with my dad,” their daughter Savannah Chrisley, 27, said in a video obtained by TMZ as she waited outside the Florida facility for her dad.

She was wearing an all-pink outfit, which included a “Make America Great Again” top and matching trucker hat with Trump’s name on both.

That same day, her 19-year-old brother, Grayson Chrisley, traveled to Kentucky to pick up their mother.
