General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that another surprise exit has been revealed. Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) is departing Port Charles, so let’s talk about the story details and who’s responsible for dragging Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) brother away from her.
In GH’s March 23 episode, Martin expressed concern for lonely Laura since it must be tough for her with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Ace Cassadine (Karis and Kiernan Barry) all the way in Ireland.
Between that and the zoning ordinance tension with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), Martin had good reasons to worry about Laura.
That’s what made it difficult for Marco to take the lucrative case opportunity he’d been offered in Reno.
Laura insisted she couldn’t stand in the way of Martin’s windfall and urged him to take the case.
Although Martin could be gone indefinitely, Laura gave him the push he needed to head out to Reno and set up Michael E. Knight’s exit in the process.
Soon after, Laura found out Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was behind this case offer.
Sidwell could tell that suspicious Martin was asking too many questions and lured him away, which was better than the alternative of killing him!
Of course, Martin has been shipped off-screen like this before.
The show tends to come up with reasons to keep Martin off canvas for lengthy periods of time, but he always comes back sooner or later.
There’s hope for Martin to return down the road, but it’s clear that Reno is the safest place for him right now.
If Martin stuck around PC and uncovered the truth about Laura’s arrangement with Sidwell, he’d be a goner!
Sidwell may become an even more dangerous villain in the aftermath of Marco Rios’ (Adrian Anchondo) stabbing drama.
This may turn Sidwell into a far worse menacing monster and put plenty of other Port Charles residents at risk.
