General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is set for a short break from the ABC soap, starting sometime this week – will Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) be taking a hiatus, too?
Steve Burton announced to fans on his Instagram in February that he was taking a brief break to spend more time with his family, and that Jason Morgan would be exiting storylines sometime in late March.
Most fans were supportive, some viewers were nervous that he wouldn’t return, but all in all, it’s one of those ‘it is what it is’ circumstances.
While it sucks that Jason must leave the show for a little while, Burton has assured fans he plans on returning to the ABC soap sometime in the summer, likely around July.
With that said, upon hearing the news, Kelly Thiebaud was upset at Burton’s decision, and she let it be known during her appearance on Maurice Benard’s (Sonny Corinthos) YouTube podcast, “A State of Mind”.
She noted she was caught off guard by Burton’s news and even confronted him about it.
Thiebaud said that she did understand his reasons for a hiatus, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t feel “let down” by her co-star.
The soap actress stated that she thought they’d have time together, and “… it’s just been really hard.”
On the one hand, Thiebaud does have a point as Jason and Britt were just building momentum in their romantic reunion; however, it’s not like Burton is leaving permanently, and three months isn’t that long.
So, what’s the real reason behind Thiebaud feeling ‘let down’? Could it be that Britt is leaving the canvas for three months, too?
That might be a factor as to why the actress is so disappointed. After all, as of this writing, Britt and Jason are slated to exit Port Charles, together.
The henchman has been working overtime to prove that Britt comes number one in his life and that he wants to save her from her current predicament.
All arrows are pointing toward Jason leaving town as part of Burton’s departure, and it would be hard for any fan to believe that he’d leave Britt behind, considering her circumstances.
General Hospital spoilers hint that Jason’s exit is seemingly slated for the week of March 16-20, so it’ll be interesting to see just how he leaves storylines and if his departure means three months without Britt, too.
