General Hospital Spoilers: Fans Don’t Trust the New Nathan — and A Relationship With Lulu Won’t Help
General Hospital spoilers claim Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) has turned heads since coming back to Port Charles.
It’s not that he’s back from the dead that is hard for soap fans to believe. That’s a regular enough occurrence on daytime television.
No, what is bothering GH fans is that this Nathan is just a bit too perfect. We believed it the last time around, but this time, something just doesn’t fit — starting with the fact that he can’t remember anything that happened between the time he got shot over seven years ago, and waking up in a hospital bed this month.
So now that we’ve seen him and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) get more friendly this week, we’re even more concerned that all is not as it seems.
Sure, they could end up close friends as she helps him work through this traumatic experience, but the fans sense something more — and they really don’t like it.
Tale as Old as Time
We’re talking about not one, not two, but three people here who have lost precious time with their loved ones.
When Nathan died, the last thing anyone expected was to ever see him again. When Lulu fell into a coma, no one knew how long it would be before she came back to them, if she ever did.
Now, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is fighting the same battle alongside a failing heart. Will a transplant be the thing that wakes her from her coma just the same as Lulu’s did? If so, fans are calling that a little too on-the-nose.
While we’re not supposed to see Maxie again until sometime next year, fans are dreading the thought of Lulu and Nathan becoming anything more than friends, but it looks like that may be the trajectory here.
GH Spoilers Tease This is Divide and Conquer
Nathan was pretty honest that it seems like no one will understand how he feels coming back into this life after seven years away more than Lulu, who lost four years of her own life.
While Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) is worried he may lose Maxie to Nathan upon her waking, the fans are terrified that Nathan is going to move on with her best friend while Maxie is out of commission.
At the same time, Spinelli might encourage that union, risking further upset when Maxie does wake up.
But what if this is just part of a nefarious plan where a plant is sent back to town looking like Nathan to bust up everyone’s lives? What if this isn’t the real Nathan and he succeeds at ripping Maxie and Lulu apart? Ouch!
Things Will Never Be the Same
If Lulu and Nathan couple up, Maxie is bound to feel a certain way about it. Lulu said it herself that he was absolutely the love of Maxie’s life.
Everyone knows that, including Spinelli, who struggled to speak on Maxie’s love for Nathan. It’s also possible that Nathan and Maxie are still married, since he’s still “alive.” But if Lulu takes Nathan for herself before Maxie even has the chance to wake up and decide what — and who — she wants, we can expect WWIII in Port Chuck.
As for the fan base, they’re hoping this isn’t what it seems. Few trust the new Nathan, even though we really want it to really be him.
If Nathan hooks up with Lulu, it’s going to solidify suspicions that this isn’t the Nathan who loved — and claims to still love — Maxie. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
