One of the cardinal rules of soaps is that characters can often come back from anything, even death, if given enough time. Recently, fans of General Hospital are starting to suspect that one of the show’s villains might be soon be back in Port Charles. Some believe Cesar Faison will return to the soap, despite being shot and killed a few years back.
Anders Hove Had Played Cesar Faison From His 1990 Debut To His 2018 Departure
Faison was brought to life by actor Anders Hove. He first played the character in 1990. He also appeared as the character on Port Charles and Loving.
Considered a criminal and terrorist, Faison proved to be one of General Hospital‘s iconic villains during his original run. His crimes included enslaving, kidnapping, and serving as a deadly threat to various characters on the soap.
In 2018, Faison was believed to have been shot and killed by Jason Morgan, bringing his villainous actions to an end. However, recent events have some fans wondering if they truly saw the last of him.
During a recent episode, Valentin Cassadine revealed that a double agent Jack was after, Colette, once worked for Faison. When it was pointed out that Faison was dead, Valentin hinted that his operations at least survive, and that a powerful figure is behind it all.
Thanks to this, fans speculate that the soap could be considering Faison’s return. Like many soaps, General Hospital is no stranger to bringing characters back from the dead. In fact, there have been multiple times over the years that Faison himself was presumed dead, only to turn up alive after all.
Faison Has Technically Worn Other Faces On The Soap Before, Though Hove Has Been His Main Actor
In addition, characters connected to Faison have also resurfaced on the soap. This includes his own daughter, Britt Westbourne. In addition, the heightened focus on espionage and false identities seems like the perfect opportunity to set up Faison’s return.
On the other hand, there is the question of whether Hove would be available to reprise the role. While he continues to appear in acting projects, most appear to be based in Europe, with him previously having moved back to Denmark. Of course, this could just make his return all the more surprising.
While Hove is considered Faison’s main actor, other actors have technically played the role at times. There have been times when Faison has disguised himself as other characters, meaning their actors have played Faison during this time, including Ian Buchanan and Anthony Geary. If the soap plans on bringing the character face, it could revisit these storylines by giving Faison a new, or even familiar, face.
It’s possible that Faison might not physically appear, but could still be hinted at manipulating things behind the scenes. Even if the character is truly deceased, however, his presence is clearly still felt on the soap. Ultimately, fans will have to stay tuned to General Hospital to see what happens next.
