General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Katelyn MacMullen (Willow Cain) recently addressed Willow’s mental state and some burning questions that are left to answer after the shooter reveal.
In an interview with SOD, Katelyn MacMullen admitted there was a lot of buzz among the cast about which character shot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Although MacMullen always knew Willow was a possibility, she didn’t get confirmation until about a week before she began filming the scenes for Willow’s trial.
MacMullen acknowledged that part of her already suspected Willow might be the culprit, but it was GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini who whispered the truth to her at the studio.
Valentini also promised that MacMullen would get some “really fun stuff to play with” as a result, so she confirmed that’s been the case.
MacMullen obviously can’t justify Willow shooting Drew, but she does try to sympathize with her character and where her head was at that night.
In fact, MacMullen hinted that fans may not have the full story yet when it comes to Willow’s mental state.
Although flashbacks were shown that proved Willow shot Drew, MacMullen suggested it’s possible Willow hasn’t always recalled her guilt or that she’s perhaps starting to remember now.
Let’s take a closer look at a strategy Katelyn MacMullen worked on with her acting coach, Holly Gagnier (ex-Jennifer Smith), to get ready for the trial drama.
“My coach and I were kind of playing with the idea of her remembering what she did, right then and there.
And being that it’s a flashback and a memory, I don’t know if she is fully convinced and believes that she did it!” MacMullen insisted.
Regardless, MacMullen is eager to see the next chapter of this storyline and what it’ll mean for Willow.
The show will eventually have to dive into Willow’s mental state and unpack how far she went off the rails.
“But it will be interesting to see where the story goes in terms of how much she truly remembers and if she was out of her mind that night,” MacMullen said.
