Viewers have seen a number of contestants, also known as “houseguests,” compete throughout the Big Brother franchise. Recently, one series alum was arrested over accusations of stealing a passport and a watch. Interestingly, the story started to trend in part because of a bizarre arrest photo.
The Big Brother Star Was Arrested Alongside Their Manager
The Big Brother franchise first broadcast in the Netherlands in 1999. Since then, the competition series has branched out to various countries around the world. The American version, for example, made its debut in 2000.
The show hosts a number of “housemates” who live together in a house cut off from the outside world. Throughout the season, contestants are voted out until there is one winner left standing.

Recently, one Big Brother alum, Luciana Martínez, was arrested amid accusations of theft. She previously rose to fame while competing in the 2024 edition of the Argentinian version of the series, Gran Hermano.
Martínez was reportedly arrested on Saturday morning after a night partying with her manager, Cristian Wagner, and an American tourist. According to reports, the three went to the tourist’s hotel room to continue drinking.
A Hotel Employee Reportedly Recognized Luciana Martínez From Television
The tourist reportedly fell asleep around 6:45 AM local time on Saturday morning, waking up around midday. He reportedly arose to find himself alone in the room. The tourist then claimed that several of his valuables were missing. This included his passport, digital watch, rucksack, and even underwear. He then filed a police report.
Martínez and Wagner were then arrested. At Wagner’s home, police seized a bag containing a passport, glasses, a watch, clothing, and other belongings. The tourist then alleged that the two had gotten him drunk to steal from him.
As noted by The U.S. Sun, CCTV footage allegedly showed Wagner leaving the hotel around 7 AM local time. Martínez appeared to stay in the room until around 10:30 AM. Their names were also recorded by the hotel. In addition, an employee reportedly recognized Martínez from television.
On social media, the story shocked many fans, especially as an arrest photo was shared on social media. As could be seen, Martínez appeared to be smiling towards the camera as she was arrested in her flat. It was also shared that Martínez and Wagner denied any robbery at the time of their arrest.
