Josh Duggar has been spending time behind bars since his 2021 arrest. During this time, fans have often wondered on what this could mean for his marriage to Anna. Recently, a rumor has come out that Anna could be interested in another inmate. However, fans are debating the truth about the story online.
19 Kids & Counting‘s Josh Duggar Originally Married Anna Keller Back In 2008
Josh and his family became known to audiences through a number of reality shows, including 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On. In 2008, he married Anna Keller, with the two sharing seven children together.
In 2021, Josh was arrested on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. The following year, he was sentenced to twelve years and seven months in prison.

Since his time in prison, fans have often discussed Josh’s convictions impacting his and Anna’s marriage. Taking to social media, one fan, claiming to have inside information of sorts, shared a recent rumor concerning the couple.
As the fan shared, “Trying to toe an ethical line here but Anna has been calling a courthouse asking about the hearing outcomes of a man who is a married fundie but not [Josh] and identifying herself as a ‘loved one.’ Soooo, I doubt she’s thinking much about [Josh] these days.”
As previously reported, Josh Duggar has been facing financial issues during his time behind bars. At one point, it was believed he had only a few cents within his savings and banking accounts. Another fan noted this, musing, “And the rumor that his commissary is empty… This is becoming a nice pot of tea.”
The original poster added a few more details, saying that the alleged other prisoner was at the same prison as Josh “when all of this started happening but has since been moved for unrelated reasons!” They also claimed that they got this information due to Anna’s phone calls.
Some Fans Suspect There Could Be An Alternate Reason Anna Would Call The Courthouse
Some fans had some issues with the story. In particular, many took issue with the idea that Anna would be using her own name in the phone calls. As one fan wrote, “How plausible is it that she would be calling the prison, identifying herself as Anna Duggar and then saying she’s a ‘loved one’ of this other inmate?”
Another issue was that the calls were allegedly being made to the courthouse, not a prison. Due to this, the information should be readily available, asking why Anna would even need to make a call.

A few fans weighed in on the story. Some believed the story could make sense with certain angles. However, others continued to bring up issues. A few fans even noted that there could be a different explanation for Anna to make such a call. Some comments included:
- “Eh. I’d imagine the clerk would require the person on the phone’s name in order to take next steps in trying to help them access information on whoever they’re calling about in the system. Seems like the most preliminary step. I’d argue the secondary step would be asking their relationship to the person. Seems pretty reasonable to me.”
- “So, there may be another reason the felon has no commissary money. I assumed that they temporarily stopped sending him money because he needed to appear indigent to the court to get a free attorney to help him with his pathetic attempt at getting a new trial.”
- “I took this as she’s calling the courthouse requesting information about another man’s divorce proceedings.”
- “I’d personally love to see Anna and this felon on Love During Lockup.”
- “She has a background in prison ministry, she’s probably helping the guys wife somehow, or something similar.”
