‘Chrisley Knows Best’ Star Trades $1.6M Mansion for Simple Life After Prison Release

Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah Chrisley is ready to return to her life following her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley’s, release from prison. The podcaster is leaving her family’s $1.6 million mansion in Nashville and is trading in all her responsibilities for a simple life. The reality star opened up about moving into her parents’ home to act as a guardian to her younger siblings, Chloe and Grayson Chrisley, and shared that she’s moving into a condo of her own.

Savannah and her parents sat down with Juju Chang for ABC News Studios’ IMPACT x Nightline for the special titled The Chrisleys: Life After Lockup , which featured the family reflecting on their difficult journey through the legal system. During the conversation, Savannah joked that she was looking forward to going back to the “carefree life of a 28-year-old,” after her parents were granted a full pardon. The reality star confessed that she wasn’t interested in any of the responsibilities that came with owning such a big estate. “I’m not gonna miss landscapers, I’m not gonna miss pool people,” added Savannah.

The Unlocked star also revealed how her father reacted when he returned home after serving two years in prison. According to Savannah, Todd started critiquing everything in the house the minute he returned. “I was literally fighting for y’all for two and a half years and raising kids, I think the floors are fine,” she joked. Todd later revealed that he and Julie are currently planning on moving to Charleston, SC where they plan on starting a brand-new hotel venture.

During the conversation with Chang, the real estate entrepreneur talked about his experience in prison and confessed that he cried himself to sleep on the first night. Todd shared that he was “angry at God” and was in disbelief over why this was happening to him.

According to Todd, as he served his time, he started to realize everything he had taken for granted, including his freedom. Now that he has his life back, he can’t stop counting his blessings. Julie agreed with her husband and shared that she missed her children and husband the most. Julie admitted that while she has missed birthdays, holidays, and graduations that she will never get back, she is determined to stay focused on the future.

While speaking to PEOPLE, their son, Chase Chrisley, told his side of the story and shared that his parents’ imprisonment “humbled” him and taught him many life lessons. The Chase Chrisley Collection founder explained that his parents’ absence was a chance for him to “pull it together” and prove to them that he could make it on his own. The reality star is currently serving as an executive producer for his family’s upcoming Lifetime docu-series.

The Chrisleys are set to return to TV with a new Lifetime series, The Untitled Chrisleys Project. A premiere date has not been announced yet.
