‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Michael Corinthos Recast Confirmed- Young And The Restless Vet Rory Gibson Cast In The Plum Role Of Carly’s Son
‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers confirm that the role of Michael Corinthos (last played by Chad Duell) has been officially recast with Y&R vet Rory Gibson.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Michael Had Come Home To Fight For His Kids
It’s interesting that the soap opted not to have another Y&R vet, Robert Adamson, step back into the part. He subbed for Duell several times. It would have certainly made sense.
However, the powers-that-be at GH went in another direction. Ironically, Gibson replaced Robert Adamson on Y&R as well.
Y&R hired Gibson to take over for Adamson as Noah Newman. It’s almost like a slap in the face. That being said, we wish all the best for “the new Michael.”
It was inevitable that the show would recast Michael as he’s at the center of a major storyline. He’s in the midst of divorcing his wife, Willow Tait Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).
Willow and Michael are also embroiled in a bitter custody battle for their children, Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko).
Michael’s “pristine” wife had a torrid affair with Michael’s uncle, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), and has now moved herself and the kids in with the sleazy congressman.
We saw an “unknown man” on a plane, watching Drew and Willow on his phone. The disgusting couple were being sickeningly lovey-dovey with each other on the red carpet at the Nurses Ball.
We all knew it was Michael, but what we didn’t know was whether Chad Duell was returning to the role he made his own as Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) son.
It will be the stuff of entertaining and compelling soap to see how this upcoming courtroom drama plays out.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Courtroom Drama Of The Year
Our money is on the half-Corinthos, half-Quartermaine who has all the money and resources, not to mention “Killer Miller” (aka Diane Miller, played by Carolyn Hennesy) at his disposal.
Between those two powerful and prominent families, Willow and Drew don’t stand a chance. Plus, there’s the video proof. The hussy who broke up her marriage to be with the town pariah doesn’t deserve those children.
Drew was ensconced in a scandal involving a hooker, body shots, and ketamine. Sounds like a responsible, loving father, right? We can’t imagine a world in which Drew and Willow win.
Michael will come out on top. While no start airdate has been confirmed for Gibson, we have a sneaking suspicion that Michael will be back as soon as either the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
With an epic custody feud and May sweeps still in full swing, we knew Michael would come home. It will be fun to see Rory Gibson’s portrayal of the new Michael.
Apparently, he has successfully recovered from his burns, and he’ll obviously be back in time for the June 2nd court date to fight for his kids.
Carly, Sonny, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), the Quartermaines, and everyone else who loves Michael will be thrilled to see Michael back and ready to rumble.
Meanwhile, we wish Chad Duell and his family nothing but the best as he embarks on a new, exciting journey post-GH.
