If you’re a parent, you can relate — “our babies grow up way too fast.” And that’s exactly what General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison (Drew) was reflecting on while celebrating his son Lucas’ birthday. The ABC soap star took to his official Instagram to share memories from various stages in his boy’s life and wow, can we just say, it’s hard to believe how grown up he is.
“Watching you grow hasn’t just meant watching you succeed — it’s meant watching you become,” Mathison began before looking back on Lucas’ life. “Every obstacle you faced, every challenge you pushed through, every bet you placed on yourself paid off.
Studying at Central Saint Martins in London, chasing the dream you never let go of… I couldn’t be more proud.” And if that wasn’t enough, the actor expressed having been left in awe by what his son has “built on the outside” and who he is “on the inside.”
After closing out the message with a big “Happy Birthday,” to his son, Mathison added, “The one who proves every single day that character and resilience are everything. I love you more than words.”
His castmate, Laura Wright (Carly) shared, “Such great pictures! Happy Birthday to your boy!” to which Mathison replied, “Our babies grow up way too fast.” And 80s superstar, Debbie Gibson, even stopped by the comments to spread cheer and stated, “Happy Birthday to your boy!”
