General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show has some excitement in store for fans.
It turns out Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) will head to New York City with Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner), so their romantic evening will set the stage for all the fun.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a special crossover event is coming up involving ABC’s GH and the Broadway production of Aladdin.
The story will play out over multiple episodes and will involve some guest appearances from Michael James Scott, who began playing Genie in the stage musical back in 2019.
On April 23, Gio and Emma will kick off their NYC adventure.
Emma and Gio have quickly become a fan favorite couple thanks in part to all the sweet scenes they’re given.
Once Gio and Emma make the trip to New York City, they’ll enjoy watching Aladdin on Broadway and will chat with Scott on the April 24 episode.
It turns out Gio used to play in a Broadway pit orchestra, so the show will use that to explain how he befriended Michael James Scott.
Gio will introduce Emma to his pal at the New Amsterdam Theatre before they wrap up their magical night together.
However, the crossover fun won’t end there!
Michael James Scott will then head to Port Charles on the May 4 episode, so Gio will have a chance to show him some of PC’s hottest spots.
That’ll pave the way for Scott to sing his version of “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin at The Savoy.
The song was originally performed by Robin Williams in the classic Disney movie, but Scott will belt out his rendition when he visits Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) nightclub.
Emma is still worried about Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), so it’ll be nice for her to relax with Gio for a bit. Gio and Emma can deepen their romance in the process, so stay tuned for all the great stuff to come.
How do you feel about GH’s upcoming Broadway crossover event? Are you glad Emma and Gio will be part of it?
