General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will have some tricky territory to navigate now that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has been hauled off by the WSB.
Sonny spoke to Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) about that in GH’s March 26 episode and sought Ric’s help now that Jason is gone.
Ric worried about Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) making a full recovery since he’s Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) partner and a huge threat.
Cullum has access to WSB resources, but Sonny has a secret plan that could change the game.
Sonny pointed out that Sidwell must think his organization is “crippled” because he doesn’t have Jason.
That’s something Sonny intends to use to his advantage, especially since Sidwell doesn’t know Sonny now has Ric in his corner.
“You and Jason have two different ways of doing things, so what I’m saying to you is I need your way to help me take down Sidwell and Cullum,” Sonny told Ric.
Of course, Sonny also acknowledged the risk since Sidwell and Cullum are two dangerous men.
If Ric had any doubts about signing up for this, Sonny offered up the chance to walk out the door.
However, Ric ultimately said to “forget the door” since he isn’t going anywhere.
Sonny got Ric’s handshake as they sealed the deal, so these two will be working together to plot Cullum and Sidwell’s downfall.
Based on Sonny’s admission, he’s essentially replacing Jason with Ric.
Sonny doesn’t have Jason to rely on right now, so he’s choosing to rely on Ric instead – even if Ric’s way of handling things is totally different.
Now that Sonny’s going all in on Ric as his secret strategy, we have to consider whether this is a good idea. Is Sonny making a mistake?
Sonny still needs to hire some muscle and trust someone who’s willing to pull the trigger for him if need be.
Ric can help Sonny play dirty in other ways, but he’s not exactly going to be helpful in a shootout!
Sonny will leave himself vulnerable if he doesn’t bring a hitman on board who can offer some protection while Jason is out of the picture, so that’s something to keep in mind.
There’s also the matter of whether Sonny’s right to put so much faith in Ric.
Although Ric seems genuine when it comes to wanting this alliance, that doesn’t mean he won’t turn on Sonny the second Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) is threatened.
General Hospital spoilers say Sonny and Ric’s partnership could lead to troubling news, so stay tuned for any upcoming drama.
