GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason is Taken Into Custody By the WSB, Marco Dies Sending Lucas and Sidwell Reeling
The Wednesday, March 25 episode of General Hospital facilitated the temporary exit of Steve Burton in the role of Jason Morgan, the final exit of Adrian Anchondo as Marco Rios, and left the door open to the continuation of a huge umbrella storyline that has everyone in the know keeping secret the fact that Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) is the person who shot WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
As viewers previously saw, Jason took the fall for the young man and now finds himself in a situation he may never get out of. The episode featured such strong performances by the men, in particular, the aforementioned Burton, plus Van Hansis (Lucas), Carlo Rota (Sidwell), Finn Carr and Asher Antonyzyn (Danny). Here’s what went down!
At Lulu’s (Alexa Havins), she finally is able to get Rocco to explain what happened at the pier. He tells his mother he shot Cullum to protect and save Jason, which is how he injured his hand. Lulu wants to make sure no one saw him. Rocco swears Cullum or Britt knew he was there. Lulu says no one can know about this, and in his tears and through his confession, he promises not to tell a soul. Lulu then offers up some ominous words saying, “she’ll take care of everything.”

ONE LIFE SAVED, ONE LIFE LOST
Back at the intense drama in the operating rooms at GH, Lucas is able to get the bullet out that’s lodged in Cullum’s back. Meanwhile, Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) keep finding more and more stab wounds and problems during Marco’s surgery in their attempt to save him.
After Lucas finishes his surgery on Cullum, he goes to call Marco, but gets his voicemail again. Suddenly, near the hospital elevators, Elizabeth tells Lucas she needs to talk to him and tells him Marco is dead. Lucas is overcome. She takes him to see Marco after explaining he was stabbed multiple times. Lucas says goodbye to his love in an exceptionally sad scene. What Lucas does know yet, is that the man he saved in the OR, killed his boyfriend!

At the PCPD interrogation room, Jason is not talking to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) shows up as Jason’s lawyer, she talks to him privately and informs him Marco was stabbed on the floor of her law offices. Talk turns to Danny and Jason wants Alexis to be Danny’s legal guardian, which she agrees.. Suddenly, Brennan (Chris McKenna) and a gaggle of WSB agents show up, saying they are taking Jason into custody. Meanwhile, at Carly’s (Laura Wright), Danny is pleading with Carly and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) to help Jason who shot a WSB agent, and its Cullum. They are stunned.
THE WSB THROWS ITS WEIGHT AROUND
Back at the PCPD, Brennan tells Jason that Cullum has pulled through his surgery thus far and the WSB is taking over his case. We learn, Jason is being charged with attempted murder of an agent and it is considered an international incident. The agents tells Dante, Justine (Nazneen Contactor) and Alexis, the WSB supersedes the PCPD and Jason is going into their custody and they shackle Jason and take him out of the police station to a waiting van.
At Wyndemere, Sidwell and Ava (Maura West) are making out, when Chase (Josh Swickard) shows up and informs Sidwell about Marco and if he knew who would want to hurt him. By the time, Jenz gets to the hospital, Dr. Gannon informs him that his son died. Then, Sidwell goes to sit by his Marco’s body, and with anguish, rage and heartbreak, he promises to make Sonny suffer for both his and his mother Natalia’s death.

EVEN MORE ANGUISH
Ava finds Lucas outside of GH, but he doesn’t want to talk about Marco being dead, because then it becomes too real, and he tells his aunt he’s not ready to grieve. As he breaks down, Ava hugs him.
A heartbroken Britt, who is beside herself, gets to the outside of the PCPD just as Jason is being taken away. In a very emotional performance by Kelly Thiebaud, she tells Jason she loves him as she breaks down. Jason tells her he loves her too as he knows this may be the last time they see each other. In the climatic ending, Danny shows up and says goodbye to his dad as he tearfully watches the van carrying his father drive off.

The question becomes will the story progress while Steve Burton is on his hiatus? Will Valentin and Carly help Jason escape off-screen and he becomes a fugitive and we don’t see his whereabouts, or might that happen later when Burton is set to return? The two-time Daytime Emmy winner wrapped filming on February 6, but is slated to be back this summer to pick-up taping all new-episodes.
