Michael E. Knight Goes On Hiatus
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Knight’s last air date before his departure was Monday, March 23.
During the episode, Martin visits his sister Laura Collins (Genie Francis) at her mayoral office to inform her that he’s going to Reno, Nevada, to work on a new case.
He does tell her he feels as if he’s abandoning her; however, Laura assures her brother she’ll be okay.
While it’s sad to see Martin leave the land of Port Charles, according to Soap Opera Digest (SOD), Knight is taking his yearly break from the soap to go visit his family out East. He will likely be back in no time.
Martin Grey’s History On The Soap
Knight entered General Hospital storylines in 2019, and his character Martin has been known to head out of town, now and again.
As a recurring player on the soap, Martin isn’t always seen on the canvas, but when he is, it is much to the delight of fans.
A hiatus makes sense for Martin at this point, considering his top client, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), has ‘locked-in’ syndrome and is bound to his bed at home (and Martin has no romance right now in PC).
While no return date is available, Martin is sure to pop up at some point. The character has established real roots in the little town, as the brother of Laura and the late Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Martin also happens to have an incredible rivalry with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), with some fans wondering if it could turn into a romance; however, that remains to be seen.
Perhaps after Martin comes back from Reno, the two could decide to turn this frenemy relationship into something more! Only time will tell.
