General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may end up wishing he’d listened to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) when she warned him not to add Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) to his legal team.
Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) is still handling some areas of Sonny’s legal affairs, but he informed Alexis that Ric would be dealing with his criminal defense “as needed.”
Ric is a great lawyer who proved himself to Sonny by tackling Rocco Falconeri’s (Finn Carr) case and pitching in with Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) recent custody agreement.
That’s why Sonny has a good feeling about this arrangement, even if Alexis feels like it’s a terrible idea.
Alexis doesn’t think Sonny can trust Ric and argued that even if Ric doesn’t double-cross him, he’s going to think that Ric will.
There are also concerns about how Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) and Kristina Corinthos-Davis’ (Kate Mansi) relationship will be affected if their fathers find themselves at odds once again.
Although Ric promised he wouldn’t double-cross Sonny, that’s a promise he may not be able to keep.
Ric may get forced into a situation at some point that’ll require him to betray Sonny, even if he’s not malicious about it.
If Ric gets threatened by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) or someone else who’s out to get Sonny, he might have to protect Molly by sabotaging Sonny or something along those lines.
Of course, there could be another path to Sonny and Ric drama as well.
Ric is obviously interested in pursuing a future with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), but Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) may soon be doing the same thing.
If Ric gets jealous over Dante’s pursuit of Elizabeth, GH fans may see him make some wild moves with disastrous consequences.
Sonny won’t be happy if Ric makes trouble for his son and may find himself rooting for Dante over Ric in this potential Liz love triangle.
That could create another path to tension and seal the deal on Sonny’s reignited feud with Ric down the road.
