The past couple of weeks, we’ve been keeping fans updated on General Hospital star Carolyn Hennesy’s (Diane) recovery following two surgeries from a broken leg. However, other reports have been filled with blatant lies — and one was so horrible that it warranted a post from the actress.
The ABC soap vet took to her official Instagram and reposted a message from an online source that claimed her Port Charles character was going to be recast due to Hennesy having had her leg amputated. “Kats n’ Kittens… I’m still very much bipedal! That was fake news!” Hennesy stated. “But I did love certain aspects of it… I think they captured the character of Diane very clearly and very lovingly. And as for me leaving the show: they’re gonna have to cart me out feet first from that sound stage. Diane is a permanent resident of Port Charles! Much love to all for the tremendous showing of support.”

One of her castmates quickly jumped into the comments to welcome Hennesy to the rumor club, as Jon Lindstrom (Kevin), who currently stars on CBS’ Beyond the Gates as Joey, cheered, “Aw, you’ve arrived! Welcome to the big leagues, sister. I was recently in a fistfight on set, and then, dead. FYI, rumors of our mishaps and/or demise have been greatly exaggerated.”
Of the rumor Lindstrom mentioned, back in October, he replied with the perfect response to his “death.” And as for Hennesy, just last week she shared what really happened in regard to her broken leg.

“Hello kats and kittens! Many of you are wanting the real scoop behind the broken leg,” she began then went on to explain, “It’s very simple… I just got tangled up with my dog, Bela Lugosi. No one’s fault; he just had the zoomies and instead of stepping on him I decided to launch myself mid air and came down wrong, to say the least. That’s all. Love to everyone!”
So, there you have it… We always love to pass along the real truth when it comes to the rumor mill.
