General Hospital’s Evan Hofer Returns to ABC in New Role, Here’s What’s Next for Former Dex Heller

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Evan Hofer (ex-Dex Heller) is headed back to ABC in a fresh role, but he’ll be on primetime instead of daytime this time around. Many GH fans have been missing Dex since he was killed off in December 2024, but you’ll have a chance to see Hofer portraying a new character on a different show soon.

On Instagram, Evan Hofer teased his upcoming 9-1-1: Nashville appearance and asked fans to watch him on Thursday, February 26.

That’s when Hofer will be playing a guest part, so he’ll be making a big ABC comeback in his first role since leaving GH.

This is exciting news for Hofer, who scored some fun replies from his former costars.

Let’s look at what a few of them had to say in the Instagram comments.

“IM WATCHING FOR E!!” Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson) exclaimed after Hofer referred to himself as “E” in his post.

Michael Easton (ex-Hamilton Finn) also confirmed that he’d “definitely” be tuning in while Jacqueline Grace Lopez (ex-“Blaze” aka Allison Rogers) teased Hofer a bit by pretending she’d have to check her schedule.

It’s nice to know Hofer is still getting plenty of support from his old castmates ahead of this 9-1-1: Nashville debut, which is happening this Thursday night at 9:00 p.m.

Of course, we should mention that you can catch another daytime drama alum in that same episode.

Hunter King (ex-Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless) will also be featured in a guest spot, so there’ll be plenty of former soap star power going on.

As for Evan Hofer’s acting future, some viewers are still wishing the show would undo Dex’s demise and give Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) back her former love interest.

Considering how Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) returned from the grave, anything is possible.

Regardless, Hofer will be tackling a different role on 9-1-1: Nashville, so be sure to check it out if you want to see Hofer on-screen again.

General Hospital spoilers say Josslyn will remain without a love interest for now, but we’ll keep you posted if that changes!
