General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) will meddle in Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) and Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) reunion, now that the woman is awake and back in Port Charles.
The General Hospital promo for the week of February 16-20 focuses on Maxie’s homecoming, and there are some interesting scenes highlighted between Liesl and Nathan.
In the preview, Liesl and Nathan are shown at the hospital as the good doctor tells her son that Maxie is awake.
She also boldly states, “You and Maxie are meant to be together, and nothing can get in the way of that.”
Well, now, hold on, Liesl, because there is someone, or some people, that can get in the way of Nathan and Maxie’s reunion, and that’s Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)!
Spinelli and Maxie have long since reunited since Nathan’s passing and have created a sweet little family with their daughter, Georgie Spinelli (Lily Fisher), and her siblings, James West (Gary James Fueller), and Bailey Lu Jones (Miley & Riley Plonski).
The two are deeply in love and have leaned on each other a lot in the years since Nathan’s supposed demise.
Then there’s the Lulu factor. Nathan has been drawn to Lulu due to their similar circumstances around being away and then returning home.
Of course, Lulu returned to her hometown after being in a coma for four years. Lulu was shocked when she came back to see that her two children had grown up and the dynamics with PC had changed dramatically.
While Nathan wasn’t in a coma, being away for seven years, he allegedly has no memory of where he’s been, and he, too, has returned to a very different hometown environment.
There’s also another layer of messiness to this equation, which is the fact that Nathan doesn’t seem like Nathan at all.
He’s messed up some key PCPD protocols while returning to his job as a detective, and that slip about his dad to Lulu during the snowmageddon blizzard still has fans wondering if he’s Peter August (last played by Wes Rasmey) or potential Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) – or anyone else for that matter!
Not to mention the fact that if Nathan’s last memory was before he got shot … then he’d still be in love with Maxie; however, Nathan has been more preoccupied with Lulu to even think of his “wife”.
Still, Liesl doesn’t know any of that, including how Lulu and Nathan have gotten close.
She sees her son and will be desperate to meddle in his affairs to ensure that Maxie and Nathan end up together!
While Liesl has no problem with Spinelli, she’s obviously going to be #TeamNathan where Maxie is concerned.
Nathan and Maxie shared an incredible love story, and Liesl would love nothing more than to see Spinelli exit from the equation so that Nathan could be inserted into Maxie’s family unit.
Liesl is far from the villainess she once was, but she’s also not below doing some scheming, for the “greater good”.
Liesl wouldn’t do anything to harm Spinelli, but that doesn’t mean she won’t work overtime to ensure that Maxie and Nathan get some time alone.
With that said, all the meddling in the world can’t force a reunion between Nathan and Maxie, especially if both parties aren’t into it, but it could create a sticky situation and plenty of drama as the two try to sort out their feelings.
General Hospital spoilers imply that Maxie’s homecoming will be a beautiful event, as loved ones happily welcome her back into the PC fold; however, it may also be a situation filled with confusion, lies, and chaos as everyone tries to figure out what should come next.
