Many viewers were introduced to Pierce after she appeared during a third-season episode of My 600-Lb Life. The Cedar Rapids native weighed around 778 pounds during her start on the show, ultimately losing around 282 pounds in total.
Pierce later appeared on My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now?. After losing around 440 pounds, she hoped that her time on the show would inspire others.
Following her weight loss, Pierce shared, “You can live your whole life believing that you can’t change the things you just don’t like … the day you see that for a lie, anything is possible.”
Tragically, news has come out that Pierce has passed away at the age of 50. Her daughter, Charly Jo, shared the news in a post on social media. As she shared, “She’s up with her momma and brother and sister and she’s finally at peace.”
“Charity, fly high momma. I hope you know how much I love you and how grateful I was to be able to be by your side while you took your last breath.”

More details were shared by a family source with TMZ. It was noted that Charity had been in hospice care for around a month or two due to various medical conditions. This included lymphedema and fluid buildup in her lungs.
Speaking with the outlet, the source suggested that the fluid in Charity’s lungs may have contributed to her death. Ultimately, it was noted, “Charity died Tuesday at 1:20 AM, surrounded by her loved ones.”
The outlet noted that Charity faced additional medical issues in recent years. This included a kidney cancer diagnosis, which required surgery. At this time, a cause of death has not been officially reported.
