General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that Chris McKenna, who plays Jack Brennan on the ABC soap, recently hinted that a new GH character is slated to debut on the show very soon.
McKenna was driving away from the General Hospital set after filming some scenes, and he hopped on Instagram to do a “Live” with his followers, so let’s unpack all the sizzling details!
The actor noted that it has been a hot minute since he’s done one of these IG Lives and began talking about how he feels like crap!
He explained that he and his family battled a cold during the holidays. As it turns out, his son, Baby Spencer, passed on the illness to everyone in the family.
With that said, while they’ve since recovered, a few days ago, McKenna’s wife told him that she thinks she has another cold, and even though the actor thought there was no way she could be sick again, here he is now battling the sniffles once more!
McKenna did sound congested in the IG video, so here’s hoping he gets better soon. Children are such vessels for spreading germs, and ‘tis the season for colds and the flu, right?!
Regardless, McKenna went on to state that while he did “cough” his way through shooting scenes, he hopes GH fans don’t recognize just how sick he is when these shows he shot air in the future (although he’s pretty sure audiences will see it).
Still, as the actor continued his IG Live, while driving away from the GH set, he went on to say that scenes were fun to film. He also added that he couldn’t tell GH viewers too much about what he shot; however, he did add some spoilers as to what fans can expect.
McKenna hints that the scenes he just shot were in Brennan’s WSB office, and they were with a legacy character that he’s worked with in the past, but not too many times.
McKenna was clear to note the clips he filmed were not with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
Could he be referring to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) or possibly Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)? It’s so hard to say at this point.
After that, McKenna dropped an even bigger bombshell on his Instagram Live when he stated that he also filmed scenes with a “new character” who hasn’t been introduced to storylines, but will debut on the show, “very” soon.
While McKenna could be referring to a major character debut, or someone stepping into a recurring role, this is still very intriguing news to say the least.
After all, fans are still waiting to find out who Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) mystery “C” investor is, so is this who McKenna is hinting at?
As the ABC soap films several weeks ahead, the character debut could very well come in February, sweeps month, or potentially soon – only time will tell.
General Hospital spoilers indicate that the ABC soap has been on fire over the past few months, and it doesn’t look like the momentum will be slowing down in 2026, so it’ll be interesting to see this new character enter the Port Charles drama and the chaos they may bring with them.
