General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that fake Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) cop charade is seemingly starting to crack. Does the detective’s latest blunder point to a secret identity?

The show has already been offering up some clues that Nathan perhaps isn’t really Nathan.

It’s true that Nathan’s DNA and fingerprints matched, but that doesn’t necessarily mean this revived Nathan is the real deal.

If Nathan has undergone a memory transfer, then there’s still some trickery going on here.

There are good reasons to think this isn’t exactly the same Nathan that people around Port Charles used to know and love.

In the January 6 episode, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was taken aback over Nathan’s screw-up.

Nathan broke the chain of evidence by leaving a cigarette butt from a crime scene in his car while he visited Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening).

Nathan seemed a bit flustered and tried to play it off like he was shaking off the cobwebs now that he was back on the force.

However, Nathan supposedly woke up like no time had passed at all, so shouldn’t he still be at the top of his game?

In reality, there may be another reason why Nathan made such a rookie mistake.

It may be because the person essentially living inside Nathan’s body isn’t a detective like him.

This may be another clue from the writers that Nathan isn’t truly who he claims to be.

There have been other hints to suggest that perhaps Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) pulled off a Nathan body takeover.

If Faison’s memories are running through Nathan’s brain, then a villain is masquerading as a good guy cop.

“Nathan” may also be passing along inside PCPD knowledge to Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and secretly using his detective position to their advantage.

Whatever the case, it feels like the show likes to throw in these moments when Nathan just doesn’t seem quite like Nathan!

It may be GH writers’ way of reminding fans to be suspicious of Nathan and who he truly is at his core.
