Janelle Brown Drops Multiple Hints That She’s Leaving ‘Sister Wives’ After 20 Seasons

Janelle Brown may be ringing in the New Year as a FORMER Sister Wives star after dropping multiple hints on social media that her days on the TLC series are behind her.

As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Janelle has appeared on the show for 20 seasons, along with her now-former husband Kody, and former sister wives MeriChristine and Robyn– the latter of whom remains married to Kody.

Throughout the last few seasons of ‘Sister Wives,’ viewers watched as Christine, Janelle and Meri ended their respective unions to Kody and Kody continued to grow distant from the majority of the children he shares with his exes. While Kody recently issued an in-person apology to Janelle on the show for his behavior leading up to– and following– their split, it appears that his “olive branch” may not have been enough to convince her to continue appearing on the family’s reality series.

Kody, actively thinking of a way to blame this on Christine. (Probably.)

On Sunday, the mom of six took to social media to share a quote about growth and strength, while reflecting in her caption on the times in her life that she believed would “break” her, including “leaving” the TLC series.

“Leaving the show… leaving a marriage… starting over at an age where everyone expects you to have it all figured out,” she wrote. “I kept looking at the pieces and thinking something must be wrong with me. But now, standing where I am, I can see it differently. None of those moments were breaking points. They were shedding points. Old expectations. Old versions of myself. Old identities that were never really mine … .”

While Janelle didn’t confirm in her post that she’s leaving the show, many ‘Sister Wives’ fans took to the comments to voice their support for her doing so.

“Leave that show…,” one person wrote. “Live life without all the drama of it. I would!”

“Good for you,” another wrote. “I wish you a lifetime of happiness now that you are free!!”

“It’s long past time for this show to end,” another fan wrote. “I wish you well with all the good things coming your way 🙌”

Janelle’s comment about “leaving the show” comes just days after she opened up on social media about living a large part of her life on-camera and how it’s led many people to form opinions about her before ever hearing her “actual voice.” Janelle noted that while people have watched “moments on-screen,” there are many things they never saw because she “wasn’t ready to share them.”

“Now that life feels quieter, I’m learning how to open up in many ways I never had space to before,” she explained. “It feels vulnerable, but also like I’m finally letting people meet the real me. And honestly… that feels like healing.”

“For so long I felt like I was running to catch up with the version of me the world created… the strong one, the steady one, the one who didn’t bend even when things were heavy,” she wrote. “But there were so many pieces of me that never made it onto a screen and now, in this quieter chapter, I’m realizing how good it feels to finally share from my heart instead of a storyline … .”

Janelle admitted it was “strange” to have people “know” her story without ever really knowing her.

The fact that I know that Kody’s ponytail used to send Janelle’s nether region into a tizzy is something I wish I could un-know…

While Janelle has yet to make any official announcements regarding her future on ‘Sister Wives,’ on Monday, she went on to share photos taken on the property of Taeda Farms– the business she and daughter Maddie are in the process of building– telling fans it’s the place where her second chapter began.

“It’s nothing I ever pictured for myself, not even close,” she said of the farm. “But now that I’m in it, it’s like my whole body finally said, ‘Oh… this is what we’ve needed.’

“Life was so loud for so long and having this space– literally and emotionally– has made me see how much I’d been holding without even noticing,” she continued. “It’s funny how the place you never imagined becomes the place that puts you back together.”
