Former President Barack Obama recently took to social media to share an emotional post. He had been mourning a recent death. With Obama’s post, many other commenters also shared similar tributes.
Barack Obama Shared That He & His Wife, Michelle, Were ‘Heartbroken’
Obama served as the 44th president of the United States. His presidency lasted from 2009 to 2017.
Prior to this, Obama, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, served as the Illinois state senator from 1997 to 2004. He later served as a U.S. senator representing Illinois from 2005 to 2008.
Obama recently took to social media to mourn the recent death of a prominent figure. This was Rob Reiner, who was tragically found dead on December 14, 2025, at the age of 78.
Known for appearing on the CBS sitcom, All in the Family, Reiner later became known as a film director, producer, and screenwriter, in addition to other acting roles.
According to ABC7 Los Angeles, Reiner was found dead inside his Brentwood home alongside his wife, Michele. Both were confirmed to have endured stab wounds.
Since the news came out, various figures have shared tributes to Reiner. Taking to X, Obama wrote in a lengthy post, “Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele.”

Obama continued, “Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action.”
