A career in the entertainment industry, especially comedy, is one of uncertainty, never knowing where your next paycheck is coming from and when. Many, like Steve Harvey, are forced to live out of their cars while pursuing their dreams.

Steve Harvey Shares Special Day After Being Homeless & Mocked
The TV judge told a story about using a payphone to call his dad. While at the payphone, Steve Harvey decided to check his voice messages, which turned out to be a life-changing decision. One message was from the booking agent at the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. Many comedians got their start there.
But Steve Harvey was living in Florida at the time and didn’t have the money to get to New York. He was about to turn down the offer when he got another voice message about a gig in Jacksonville, Florida, that paid $150 for one night. He took the job, hoping to save up enough to make it to New York for the other gig.
Steve Harvey was such a big hit at the Florida show that they asked him to perform another night. With $300 in his pocket, he quickly booked a flight to New York. He name-dropped some of today’s most famous celebrities as other acts that night, including D.L. Hughley, Jamie Foxx, and future WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
His Hopeful Message To Others Who Are Struggling In Life
Steve Harvey was the last performer of the night. All of the other acts, as famous as they are today, were booed off the stage. However, Steve Harvey received a standing ovation. After several other hosts of Apollo’s Amateur Night got sitcom roles, Steve Harvey was offered the role. His career took off after that, and the rest is history.
He now hosts Family Feud, plays a judge on his self-titled TV show, and many other projects. Life is better, but he recently faced a serious setback in his personal life.
Despite the personal problem, he shared an encouraging message to others trying to find their big break in life.
“If you’ve ever doubted your gift, let me tell you something — you’re never too old to reinvent yourself. You’re never too far gone for God’s timing,” he wrote on social media.
“Keep believing. Keep working. And when it’s your season… oh, you gon’ know it,” the Family Feud host added. Let us know in the comments your thoughts on Steve Harvey’s inspirational story.
