In a new preview clip from 1000 Lb Sisters shared by TLC on Instagram, Dr. Peter Rubin approached Chris, Amanda, and Amy to inform them about Tammy. He said that the skin removal surgery went pretty well, and their sister, aka his patient, was alright at that moment. Amanda asked the renowned plastic surgeon how much skin they had removed.
Dr. Rubin told Amanda that precisely 10 and a half pounds were officially off Tammy’s arms, abdomen, and neck. However, Tammy’s siblings gave shocking expressions after learning that he and his medical team couldn’t find a needle after completing the procedure. He explained that, by protocol, they collect all the instruments and needles to count.
Unfortunately, the operation took Dr. Rubin a little longer to finish since they did an X-ray on Tammy’s body. Hence, they opted not to awaken her from anesthesia to stay clear. Amanda showed up in the confessional to joke about the situation. The TLC star doubted whether the needle was lost within the removed skin.
